Information for Employers
Bologna Declaration represents, for the signatory countries, a new approach of academic studies by creating a European Higher Education Area. Bologna Process currently aims at fulfilling important objectives, such as:
- Establishing an easy system of diploma recognition and comparison;
- Adopting a system based on three study cycles: Bachelor degree, Master’s degree and Doctoral degree;
- Using a system of transfer credits (ECTS);
- Promoting students’ and teaching staff’s mobility.
The employers’ key role in developing and implementing this process is showed, except for the contribution in establishing the National Qualification Framework, in the graduates’ “employability” as a measure of fulfilling an important part of the intended educational objectives. Thus, employers represent an important actor and partner in the quality assurance process in higher education.
ARACIS established the employers’ permanent expert Commission (Commission 15), as well as a register of external experts who will be involved in the evaluation process, at programme and institutional level. At the same time, they will contribute to the analysis of the content of the methodology, standards and guides on quality assurance in order to update them according to the labour market requirements.
The employers’ permanent expert commission is composed of nine members selected by ARACIS Council among those proposed by the employers in the public and private environment. An important criterion in selecting expert evaluators was the expertise in the field of human resources management in the institutions and fields they represent. The activity of the employers’ permanent expert Commission is supported in the evaluation process by a register of external experts.
